GRANVILLE- William Arthur “W.A.” Chappell, Jr., 86, of Granville County died on Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was the son of the late William Arthur Chappell and Maggie Pearl Bunn Chappell. He retired from American Tobacco after 40 years of service. He was a farmer, loving husband, married 58 years. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and song leader. and A. Lee Chappell Mathers.
He is survived by his son Jerry Lynn Chappell (wife Gwen) of Stem; daughter, Gwendolyn D. Chappell of Creedmoor; brother, Earl Howard Chappell of Durham; three sisters, Mary Chappell Rigsbee of Orange Park, FL; Ruth Chappell Garrett of Durham; and Pat Chappell Latta of Cape Canaveral, FL; five grandchildren, Kim Greer, Brandi Greer, William Thomas Chappell, Zackary Chappell and Ashley Chappell.
