William A. Gulas, 89, of Ottawa, formerly of Portage, Indiana, died May 11, at the Ottawa Pavilion.
Mr. Gulas was born on July 8, 1921 in Braddock, PA, to William Peter and Mary Christine (Wileshol) Gulas. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in India. Mr. Gulas received his B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana. He was employed as an Engineer at Westinghouse in Chicago until his retirement. Mr. Gulas married Betty Marie Christman in April of 1961, in Peoria, Illinois. She died on Nov. 25, 2010.
He is survived by two stepsons, Doug Haley of Winamac, Indiana and Greg Haley of Fayetteville, NY; six grandchildren, Lisa Haley of Lafayette, IN, Liz Haley of Austin, TX, Kari Haley of Ottawa, John Haley of Winamac, IN, James Haley of Merrillville, IN, Michelle Dickey of Winamac, IN and eight great-grandchildren.
