Willard Richardson Duncan passed away on 12 September 2021. He was born on 31 July 1931 in Peking (Beijing), China while his father Robert was teaching at Yanching University. He graduated from Dickinson College in 1953 with a political science degree. He spent 1953 to 1956 in the U.S. Army Counter Intelligence Corps. Later in 1956, he joined the First National City Bank (later Citibank) management training program and remained with Citi until his retirement in 1987 as a Vice President. He served in Private Banking and Investment from 1960 onward and was proud of his many Wall Street friendships, acquaintances, and business partners among the prominent businesses of the day. His artistic and intellectual curiosity spanned many interests but focused sharply on jazz and piano, which he claimed eluded him but all considered him an accomplished pianist. Retiring first in Duxbury, then moving in 2005 to The Pine Hills in Plymouth, where he reveled with his friends poolside, sharing conversation and commentary with his Winslow’s View neighbors. He leaves after 67 years of wedded bliss his devoted wife and high school sweetheart Eileen (O’Keefe); his sister Sally Duncan; his brother John Babcock and family; son Robert; and daughter Anne (Corcoran), son-in-law Tim Corcoran, and grandsons Connor and Duncan.
