Willa “Naomi” (Wolfe) Ripley, 85, of Newburg, WV, died on Monday, November 7, 2016, at her home.

Naomi was born October 30, 1931, in Newburg, a daughter of the late Cecil Wolfe and Jesse M. (Boggs) Wolfe Maxwell.

She was a graduate of Newburg High School then attended Springfield School of Nursing. She worked as an LPN for over 30 years in the state of Maryland. Naomi was a member of Shays Chapel Methodist Church and Springfield Hospital Auxiliary. Naomi was described by many as a true force of nature. She was strong, independent and always, sometimes fiercely, honest. A favorite quote was “you have to be a friend to make a friend,” and the longer Naomi lived the more friends she made. Naomi will live on in our memories and in spirit as she rests in peace with her parents, brother and sisters, her son, and the many dear friends who have passed before.

She is survived by her son Carroll “Eddie” Ripley Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Sheila Riley; four grandchildren, Emily Ripley Carroll, Noah Ripley, Charlotte Riley Bosley and Rod Riley Jr.; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Rodney E. Riley on February 16, 2004; one brother, John E. Wolfe; three sisters, Kathleen (Wolfe) Bolyard, Mary Jo Ridenour, and Ruth Wolfe.
