Wilhelmina “Willy” J. Shaffery, 74 passed away on May 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tilburg, Netherlands to Johannes Hessels and Gerarda (Snoeren). She immigrated to the United States in 1956 and resided in Oceanport since 1963.
Willy worked for many years as a Cafeteria Manager for Sodexo in Oceanport and Ocean Township.
She was a member of the quilting club at Poricy Park, she loved knitting, scrapbooking, antiquing, traveling, and
gardening. Traveling was one of her greatest hobbies, which she loved to share her adventures.
Willy was predeceased by her parents, her husband Patrick Joseph Shaffery in 2006, and her granddaughter Alexa.
She is survived by her sons Patrick, Daniel and his wife Stephanie, and Mark. Her brother John Hessels (Carole), and sisters Johanna Hessels, Henrica Moore, Gerarda Nowlan, Petronella Smith (Robert). Also surviving are her 4 grandchildren Amanda, Brianna, Wyatt and Garrett.
