De’Zaree was born on August 10, 1992 in San Diego, California to ArleatheaTrudy-Wednesday-McAllister and Willie Mack Gardner Jr. She was born without any medication, pulling, or doctor in the hospital room. And that is how she lived her life, head strong and impatient. She wanted it to happen and happen right now. De’Zaree was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. “Dez” attended Our Savior Preschool, Clay Elementary, Marvin Elementary, Farb Middle School, Pershing Middle School, Serra High School, and San Diego High school, where she was the 2008 Cheerleading Captain and graduated class of 2010. On November 30, 2010, she gave birth to her wonderful, intelligent, handsome son, Jordan. Since that day, she dedicated every day of her life to him. He was her purpose for everything. The day her son was born, she went into labor at school and she was so scared. She called Mom to calm and console her and Mom assured her everything would be fine and she would be right there. As Mom wrote this she recalled all of the times Dez called her when she saw no other way and needed Mom’s advice and consoling. To that, Mom says thank God she knew she had her then and your life, your everything, our “Baby Jordan” has her now. De’Zaree lit up the room with her big bright eyes and beautiful bright smile. She lived twenty-one short years before she was taken from us, but her spirit, her love, her memory will live forever. If you knew her you loved her. She was a diamond in the rough, and she is shining on all of us now.

Dez meant a lot to her family and friends, who all had an individual relationship with her. And, she loved the kids… all kids! Her goal was to be a Child Therapist, working with teenage girls. She wanted her own Non- Profit Counseling Group that would help runaway, abused and misplaced children. And, if you knew her, you knew her passion for what she wanted, guaranteed that it would have happened. Dez wanted to make a difference and even though she is not going to be hands on in bringing her dream to fruition, she is the reason, her life is the inspiration, her death is the incentive, for the motivation and dedication with which so many of us will live our lives.

Dez leaves behind to celebrate her life and love her son, JORDAN AMIRE ANDERSON; mother, Arleathea McAllister; father, Willie M. Gardner, II; stepfather, Robert J. Smith, Sr.; grandparents, Barbara McAllister, Marion Simmons, James McAllister, Lashondria McAllister and Devester Moon; brothers, Willie M. Gardner III, Robert J. Smith Jr., David Odukwe Jr.; best friend, Tianna Davis; and a plethora of aunts, uncles, favorite cousins, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

No one will be the same without you… But everyone will be better because of you!
