Wiley Edward “Ed” McCormick, 89, went home to be with the Lord with family by his side, Saturday, June 1, 2013. He was born in Fairmount to the late Wyatt and Edna (McKelleb) McCormick. Mr. McCormick graduated from Fairmount High School with the class of 1941. He married Charris Waggoner on May 15, 1943. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2011. A life-long resident of Grant County, he attended Center Chapel United Methodist Church, Marion. He was well known as a professional photographer and he retouched photos for other studios. He was a farmer and had his own excavating business. He participated in Center Chapel United Methodist Church basketball and Senior Olympics Basketball games. Survivors include a son, Martin (Wendy) McCormick, Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Diana Tedder, Marion, Thais (Tony) Barker, Muncie, and Lisa (Edward) Wood, Marion; two brothers, James McCormick, Dayton, Ohio, and Paul (Linda) McCormick, Jonesboro; two sisters, Patricia Little (Don Peck) and Phyllis (Jack) Banther, both of Sun City, Florida; a sister-in-law, Beverly Waggoner, Marion; six grandchildren, Marcie Baird, Christy Moore, Scott Tedder, Joe Wood, Amy Rosenbaum and Alicia McCormick; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Marjorie Shaffer, Ruth Sappenfield, and Shirley Gingerly, a son-in-law, Jack Tedder, a brother-in-law, Cleeson Waggoner, and a sister-in-law, Lois McCormick.
