MINNICK Wilbur Keith Minnick, 88, of The Plains, Ohio passed away at his home Saturday, January 20, 2018. Born June 7, 1929 in Madison County; he was a son of Jesse and Ruth Ann (VanSkoy) Minnick.Wilbur retired from ODOT as a right of way negotiator, had done real estate appraising and had a love of buying and restoring old cars. At the age of 65 and for over 20 years, he took art lessons from Joni Carrington of Albany, Ohio and created detailed works of art through oil painting and unique repurposing of salvage materials. He was also a member of the US Army as a medic 1948-1950 and a member of the American Legion. He leaves behind his daughters Kena Louise Minnick of Edisto Island, SC and Karla (Greg) Johnson of Pickerington; grandchildren Jessica Adkins, Jennifer Gramse, Kristy Smallwood, Adam Kline, Wilbur “Chip” Minnick and Kevin Minnick; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren sprinkled throughout the United States; the love of his life, his four-legged girlfriend Cece; daughter in law Dawn Stanley-Minnick and her daughters Adrienne Stanley and Jessica Motley; sister Ruth Ann Winker and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Cecile Emma Minnick in 2007, son Keith Minnick in 2013, brothers William and Kenneth Minnick and sisters Winona Pope and Louise Beaver.
