Wilbur went home to be with his Lord and Savior with his loved ones by his side on June 4, 2018. Wilbur was born to Peter and Wilhelmina (Tuin) Medema on May 7,1929. He attended the William Street Christian School. After school he went to work as a plasterer and later went to work for the Kalamazoo Public Schools where he retired. He was married to Betty Harper on May 21, 1955 who proceeded him in death.
Wilbur was a lifetime member of the Second Christian Reformed Church. He loved his time volunteering at the Senior Center with his dear friend Norma. Wilbur and Betty loved all their niece and nephews and covered them daily with prayer. In addition to his wife, he is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law Herman and Mary Medema, and brothers-in-law Dick Swanson, Max Bassler, Jerry Mastenbrook and Ed Hilton. Wilbur is survived by his sisters Jane Swanson Rooseboom, Harriett Bassler, Margaret Mastenbrook and Dorothy Hilton as well as several nieces and nephews.
