Wilbur Lee Jackson, age 85, a lifelong Troy resident, passed away Saturday morning, August 30, 2003 at Maryville Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Troy June 25, 1918 to William Norman Jackson and Bertha (nee Baum) Jackson. He served in the US Army for 2 years during World War II. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, where he worked as a production scheduler.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Troy VFW Post 976, a 50-year member of American Legion Post 708 in Troy and a member of the Troy Historical Society.
He is survived by his special friend and companion of 23 years, Jeannette Judd; two sons, Dan and Bill Jackson; three daughters, Donna Kampwerth, Margy Voigt and Sherry Rieken; two sisters, Iona Moser and Vera Scott and his former wife, Adeline Amen. He was very fond of his grandchildren, Kent and Kirk Kampwerth, David Voigt, Dana Gansmann, Chad, Matthew, Christopher, Megan, and Sarah Jackson, and Joe and Jacob Rieken; and three great grandchildren, Kaleb and Kayleen Kampwerth and Kylee Gansmann.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (nee Rood) Jackson in 1957; his son Timothy Jackson in 1985, and his son-in-law, Darwin Voigt in 1997.
