Wilbur Devendorf, Jr., 86, of Salisbury passed away Friday July 20, 2012 at his residence.
He was born Saturday January 23, 1926 in Buncombe County, NC, a son of the late Alice Miner and Wilbur Devendorf, SR.
Wilbur was educated in the schools of Buncombe County and Duke University.
He was retired from the US Army where he served in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Deelstra Devendorf and one grandson Mitchell Lee Heilig.
Left to cherish his memory is son Marshall Scott Devendorf of Hampton, VA; daughters Mary (Missy) Devendorf Landesman of Cary, Ann Devendorf Heilig and husband Tony of Salisbury, Barbara Anne Devendorf of San Jose, CA and Alice Devendorf Keller of Ellerbe, NC, one sister Jane Devendorf Osinski of Orlando, FL, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
