Wesley Lee Smith, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:27 a.m., on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Northwoods Village.
Born in Allen County, on May 8, 1938, to the late, Charles and Helen (Butt) Smith. He spent his formative years in rural Allen County, graduating from Huntertown High School.
Lee was married to Wavalene Evans in Gomer, Ohio, on November 14, 1959. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2009, after nearly 50 years of marriage.
He was employed at International Harvester in Fort Wayne. When Harvester moved, he transferred to Springfield where he lived until his retirement. After his retirement, the couple lived in Florida for 10 years before coming home to Fort Wayne.
Lee enjoyed playing golf, bowling and camping. He especially loved his family.
Lee is survived by three sons, Donald (Shannan) Smith, David (Jill) Smith both of Fort Wayne and Robert (Denise) Smith of Valrico, Florida; a sister, Carol Williams; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his second wife, Shirley Smith.
