Wesley C. Wheaton, 70, of Milford passed away suddenly on Jan. 9, 2011 in MilfordHospital after being stricken at his home. He was the beloved husband of Josephine Garufi Wheaton. Mr. Wheaton was born in BridgeportJune 26, 1940, son of the late Roswell J. and Beverly Colman Wheaton. He was a graduate of MilfordHigh School and Leicester Jr. College, now BeckerCollege in Massachusetts.  He was an insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life and owned and operated the Tremont Motel in West Haven for several years. He has been in the jewelry business for 37 years, at the former Liberty Jewelers in Orange and currently, as a personal jeweler and as a jewelry wholesaler in the Bowery Diamond District in New York City. He enjoyed fine food and wine, sharing both with family and friends; golfing; and feeding the wild animals around his property. He was a season ticket holder of the New York Giants since 1975. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Wesley D. (Eileen Gorman) Wheaton Jr. of Milford; two daughters, Wendy Wheaton of West Haven and Tara Seneco of Milford; one brother, David B. Wheaton of Milford; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Wheaton of Milford, Tiffany Wheaton of Ansonia, Stephanie (Mark) Bonaminio and Alexander Seneco, both of North Haven and Seana Wheaton of Milford; 2 great grandchildren, Layla Wheaton of Milford and Tianna Wheaton of Ansonia; his brothers in law and sisters in law, Rose and Frank Pepe, Angela and John Borack and Jean Garufi; several nieces and nephews and a legion of friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Marjery J. Whittaker.
