Wendy Benson Weigel, 56, of 178 Beaver Ridge Road, Collinsville, VA died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born on May 15, 1953 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to the late Margaret Thill Benson and Garfield Benson. She was also preceded in death by a sister Tippi Benson. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Wendy was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls and received an Associate Degree from Patrick Henry Community College. She was employed by the Martinsville City School System for 28 years, where she managed the Computer Lab. Surviving are her husband Alfred Eugene “Gene†Weigel and son Ryan Weigel of Collinsville. A daughter Mandy Weigel Horsley and husband Chad of Collinsville. One Sister; Susan Mellas of Yorba Linda of CA. Two Brothers: Robert “Bob†Benson of Thief River Falls MN and Dennis “Dennie†Benson of Waskish MN. Two Grandchildren: Peyton and Rachel Horsley of Collinsville.
