Wendell Ray Self, age 82, of Huntsville, passed away on Tuesday February 15, 2011.
Mr. Self was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. After his military service, Mr. Self was a Contracting Officer for the US Missile Command, MICOM. He was a coach in various community based sports and a longtime member of the Hazel Green United Methodist Church. Mr. Self was a beloved father, colleague, and friend to many.
Mr. Self is survived by his children, Michael Self (Cathy), Darla Mayo (Rob), and Brad Self (Peggy); his grandchildren, Matthew, Chris, Chad, Josh, Joe, Chris B., and Eric; and by 4 great grandchildren.
