Wendell Charles Leach, 87, died on March 28, 2021 in Yuma, AZ after a battle with cancer.  He was born December 23, 1933 in Kenneth, MO, son of the late Charles Thomas Leach and Kate Victoria (Snipes) Leach.

Wendell served in the US Air Force for 26 years enjoying every tour especially Germany and Okinawa, Japan.  He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.

Wendell also retired from the Wisconsin Rapids, WI US Post Office after 16 years as a letter carrier.

Wendell enjoyed being a gold prospector for 25 years in Yuma, AZ.  Unfortunately he never found the motherlode leaving that for his prospecting partner Tom Schwietzer.

He married the former Mary Patty (Helmuth) on July 3, 1975; she survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Wanda Crafton; Elaine Spencer, Dorothy Karlish, Yvonne Webb, Mildred Chipman and Beth Taylor.

He is survived by two sons; Danny Leach of Portland, OR and David (Rhonda) Leach of Dorsey, IL; two daughters, Cheryl (Keith) Patty of Sun Prairie, WI and Dawn Patty Way of Eau Claire, WI.  Three grandchildren, Craig (Elizabeth) Leach, Sarah (Joshua) Jorden, and Aaron Leach; and 2 great grandchildren.  He’s also survived by two brothers, Bobby (Marie) Leach of Cloverdale, IN and Richard Leach of Indianapolis, IN; and one sister, Ruth (Charlie) Belden of Bloomington, IN, and many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his best buddy, Steve Kingsland as well as his long-time friends Judy (Jim) Fuller, Sue (Mike) Miller, and Darlene (Jerry) Johnson.
