Wendel William Varsak, 90, of Fairmont, WV, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Fairmont General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 25, 1924 the son of the late Peter Varsak and Christine Karnelfal Varsak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ellen Hughes in October of 1978.
He is survived by one daughter; Wendy A. Varsak Cleavenger and husband Pasqualla “Jim”; five grandchildren; Chrisie, Corey, Cody and Chad Cleavenger and William Varsak Jersey; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; Chrstine E. Varsak in 2013; two brothers and one sister.
Wendel was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for 25 plus years for Anchor Hocking.
