Wells C. Westenskow – husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home to our Heavenly Father on December 22nd.  He was born to Erastus and Sarah Jane (Anderson) Westenskow on July 19, 1924 in Manti, Utah.  Dad was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister along with his loving wife, Lera to whom he shared 56 years of marriage. With Dad’s passing, we lost another proud and loving member of the greatest generation this country has ever seen. He was educated in Manti, Utah in the early years of his life and attended college at Utah State in Logan, Utah.  During WWII, Dad spent time at Hill Air Force base, Wendover Air Force base in Utah and Mountain Home Air Force base in Idaho.

After the war, Dad went to work for Western Electric where he met his future wife, Lera, during a telephone operators strike in Pocatello, Idaho.

After Dad retired, he and mom started their second career as “grandparents” and took to this endeavor with great enthusiasm and remained active with their grandkids. The great-grandkids were the final hurrah for Dad. He never missed an opportunity to show pictures or tell stories about his kids to anyone that would listen.

Wells is survived by his children Michael (Mary Lou) Westenskow of Spokane, WA.,  Jane Ann Hansen of Boise, ID,  David (Tonya) Westenskow of Boise, ID. along with his legacy of 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Dad will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We love you Dad! The family will hold a remembrance for Dad later this spring.  We want to thank the doctors and staff at Saint Alphonsus hospital for the great care they provided Dad in his last days.
