Dorothy J. Weitzel, formerly of Glencoe, Arkansas, daughter of the late William and Lena Pittman Johnson, passed away from Cancer November 23, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the age of 82. She was born April 16, 1933 in Alabama. She was united in marriage to Raymond O. Weitzel on June 8, 1951 in Homestead, Florida and six children were born of their union.
Survivors include her brother, Howard Johnson of Adairsville, Georgia; daughters: Ruth D. Weitzel and husband Peter Guins of Lansing, Michigan; Linda M. Weitzel Weidner and husband Thomas J (TJ) Weidner of Virginia Beach, Virginia; son, Raymond O. Weitzel Jr. and wife Lynn of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren: Genevieve Guins-Bancroft, Abigail Guins, Benjamin Guins, Patricia VanEeckhoute, William Weitzel, Katrina Weitzel; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond O. Weitzel; sons, William R. and Dale J. Weitzel; an infant daughter; brothers, Charles and William Johnson, Jr.; sisters, Martha Carroll Johnson and Mary Frances Smith and her father and mother.
