Funeral for WC Gholston, 76 of Mount Hope, Alabama will be 1:00 P.M.
Mr. Gholston was born in Lawrence County, Alabama to the union of the late Bessie McCord Gholston and the late Emmitt Gholston on May 3, 1935. He departed this life on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Trinity, Alabama.
WC attended school in his church in Mount Hope. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Rock Spring CP Church. He was employed as a farmer for many years at Pickens Farm in Mt. Hope.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Charles and Syble Young; four brothers, Willie B, Luke, BC and Willard Gholston; and three sisters, Mattie Newsome, Louise Dinsmore and Mamie Box.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Minnie Gholston of Mt. Hope, Children; Doris (Kieth) Taylor of Aliquippia, PA, James Young of Pittsburg, PA, Clyde (Loretta) Young of Moulton, Mildred Gholston of Trinity, Yvonne Gholston of Birmingham and Sammy Gholston of Huntsville; 14 grandchildren, five of which he raised, Eric, Lee and Regina Young, Stephanie Johnson and Rhonda Steward, 6 great-grandchildren,one sister, Patsy Miland of Decatur, one special family friend, Renee Finley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
