Wayne W. Dickman, 77, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Passavant Area Hospital, with his family at his side.
He was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Meredosia, the son of Harry and Vera McDannold Dickman. He married Erna Lee Staake on May 29, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Meredosia, and she survives.
He is also survived by one son, Jay Wayne (Nancy) Dickman of Houston, TX; one granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Dickman of Austin, TX; four brothers, Ray “Sonny” Dickman and Bob Dickman, both of Meredosia, Ted (Lynn) Dickman of Columbia, MO, and Royce “Butch” Dickman of Baylis; and one sister, Sue Toland of Rushville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Christine Ann Dickman; and one brother, Carl Dickman.
Mr. Dickman was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Operating Engineers Local #7, and had worked as an Engineer at the Jacksonville Developmental Center for many years.
