Mr. Wayne Townsend, 91, of Salado. Mr. Townsend died Friday April 22, 2011 in a Temple Assisted Living Home. Mr. Townsend was born April 14, 1920 in Salado, the son of Will and Elva (Grigsby) Townsend. Mr. Townsend was a World War II veteran and served in the U. S. Army. He married Connie Blain, October 10, 1948 in Salado. He was a Farmer and Rancher and proudly raised registered Hereford Cattle.
He was a member of First Baptist Church Salado. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2006. Survivors include his daughter Lori Townsend Maughan; brother Kenneth Townsend and granddaughter Jessica Maughan all of Salado.
