Wayne R. Epler, age 81, of Rensselaer passed away March 6, 2011 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana.
Wayne was born in Rensselaer on July 16, 1929, the son of Frank C. and Bertha A. (Montgomery) Epler. He was a lifetime resident, graduating from Rensselaer High School with the class of 1947. On September 17, 1949, in Rensselaer, Wayne married Margery R. Hamer. Margery passed away November 25, 2000. Wayne worked as a lineman with the Jasper County REMC and retired after 39 years of employment. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer.
Surviving are two children, Daniel A. (Carol) Epler, Monticello and Teresa R. Epler, Lafayette, three grandchildren, Chad Epler, Jori (Mike) Clerget and Lindsey (Brian) Kemper, two great-grandchildren, Adeline Kemper and Miya Clerget and two sisters, Helen Healey, Rensselaer and Vivian Lowry, Francesville.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Debra “Debbie” Epler, three brothers, Charles, Harold and Frank Jr., and one sister, Ruth Harrington.
