Olen  Wayne  Milligan

Olen Wayne Milligan was born December 30, 1943, and he died October 11, 2014 at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Becky Milligan of Drasco; daughter, Tammy; son-in-law, Sam; granddaughters, Jana Lee and Jori Minnick of Vilonia; sister, Sue Goode of Benton; brothers, Phillip (Theresa) Milligan of Heber Springs and Dennis (Tina) Milligan of Bryant; and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a 20 year veteran of the US Army. He served the people of Cleburne County, first as a deputy and later as the Sheriff. Wayne enjoyed raising cattle, especially rodeo bulls. He typically held practice sessions at his home arena where he enjoyed helping young riders learn the sport. During his army career, he always made sure that anyone away from their families knew they were welcome in his home, especially holiday dinners. His passion was helping young people make good life choices. Wayne and Becky moved to Cleburne County in 1982 to manage the Swinging Bridge Trout Dock.

Wayne was a compassionate person who would help anyone who needed a helping hand. He enjoyed serving the people of Cleburne County as their Sheriff. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Above all, Wayne loved his family.
