Wayne Lewis Sturgill, age 91, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born June 16, 1919, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Albert and Matilda -Tillie- Hamilton Sturgill.

His wife of 61 years, Pauline Sparks Sturgill, preceded him in death on September 2, 2007.

Mr. Sturgill is survived by one son, Ralph Sturgill of Morehead, Kentucky, and one sister, Violet Katherine Littleton of Apex, North Carolina.

Mr. Sturgill served his country in the U.S. Army and was a retired barber. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Barbering in 1952 and served his apprentice with Jack Frost in Bethel, Ohio. He worked with Forrest Hardin and was a partner with Carl Sizemore, James Lambert, and Tab Golihue in Morehead. In 1961, he became the owner and operator of Sturgill-s Barber-s Shop at Hayes Crossing until his retirement in 2005.
