Wayne Lamar Spohr, 87, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his home.
Wayne was born on December 1, 1931, on the family farm in Ottawa, to Ernest C. and Ida (Knoll) Spohr.
He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Wayne married Donetta Davidson on February 15, 1953 at the First Methodist Church in Ottawa. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served in the Korean War.
Wayne farmed his entire life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He loved his brothers and sisters at Zion. He also loved skiing, camping, roller skating, and snowmobiling. He loved animals, but his three most important loves were God, family, and the farm.
He is survived by his wife, Donetta, two daughters, Susan Beth Williamson, of Ottawa, Amy Jayne (Ray) Kasper, of Westchester; three grandchildren, Amanda (Terry) Muffler, Jacob Williamson, and Elizabeth Williamson, and two great-grandchildren, Lilia and Liam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Marion Ludwig and Evelyn Kittilson.Memorials may be directed to: Zion Lutheran Church or the Grand Ridge Fire Department.Pallbearers will be: Terry Muffler, Tom Davidson, Dan Davidson, Marvin Johnson, Guy Ludwig, Greg Ludwig, and Michael Roeder. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Liam Muffler, Bob Kittler, Bob Mundt, Bill Poutre, Dave McBride, Paul Munson, and Ron Pohar.
