Wayne Forrest Christy, Jr., the son of Wayne F. and Mary Bridges Christy, Sr. was born on April 9, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Albia High School in Albia, Iowa.
On August 2, 1969, Wayne was united in marriage with Linda K. Filson in Newton, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters, Tillena and Jennifer. Wayne was a production worker for the Maytag Company in Newton for 30 years. He was a member of The Des Moines Astronomical Society, Inc.
Wayne died on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton. He was 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elizabeth Christy and brother, Jon Christy.
Those left to honor Wayne’s memory are his wife, Linda of Newton; two daughters, Tillena Christy and her husband, Tracy Munger of Kellogg and Jennifer Christy of Newton; his granddaughter, Madelyn Aubert of Newton; sister, Vickie (Jim) Summers of Moberly, Missouri and brother, Kevin Christy of Colorado.
