Wayne E. Wittbecker, 87, of Freeport died, Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at his home. Born January 22, 1921 in Freeport he was the son of Walter and Bessie (Scovill) Wittbecker.
On March 28, 1944 he married Gwendolyn Boyd in Ardmore Oklahoma. Wayne worked at Kaney Transportation for many years and then worked at Metal Specialties for 15 years retiring in 1983. Wayne was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Freeport American Legion.
Surviving is his wife, Gwendolyn; one son, Thomas W. (Geraldine) Wittbecker of Freeport; one grandson, Thomas J. Wittbecker of Freeport; one brother, Emerson Wittbecker of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Doris Butler of Albuquerque, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents.
