Wayland Willis, 85, resident of Deming passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Willow Manor Assisted Living facility in Deming.
Wayland was born January 13, 1936 to James and Bessie (Triste) Willis in Tyler, TX. He enlisted into the United Sates Air Force serving his country for 22 ½ years earning the rank of Master Sargent. Wayland was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Deming and member of the Shriners Club and Eastern Star for many years and served as Master of the Masonic Lodge. He moved to Deming over 30 years ago from his hometown in Tyler, TX. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Deming.
He is survived by his wife, Marty Willis of the home; his four step-children, Donald (Debbie) Benningfield of Georgetown, TX, Aaron Benningfield, Kelly (Gloria) Benningfield and Cindy (Dusty) Morris all of Deming; a sister, Lynn Cohen of Tyler, TX; niece and nephew, Whisper and Matthew; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, James and Bessie Willis and his first wife, Marcela Willis.
