Wavoline M. Witham, age 92, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Kingston at DuPont in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Wavoline was born on September 1, 1929, to her parents, Walter & Jessie (Harshman) Gagle in Portland, Indiana. Wavoline married Bill Jones in 1947. They shared 29 years together, raising 4 wonderful children before Bill passed away in September of 1976. Wavoline married Clayton Witham in 1985, sharing 20 years of marriage before he passed away in October of 2005.
Wavoline was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School in Ohio, class of 1947.
Wavoline’s family meant the world to her. She was the best grandma, always making sure her grandchildren knew how much they meant to her. She had an infectious laugh and gave the warmest hugs. Wavoline enjoyed her life on the farm with Clayton; they would work side by side every day. She also loved to work in the yard whether that be mowing or gardening. In her free time, she enjoyed clothing repair.
Those left to carry on Wavoline’s legacy of love are her children, Dale (Annette) Jones, Karen (Michael) Li, Susan Steveson; daughter-in-law, Diana Jones; grandchildren, Jacob, Joyce, Tim, Tom, Ryan, Kristi, Stacy, Michelle; great grandchildren, Dakota, Lane, Alec, Kira, Christian, Spencer, Brooklyn, Kayleigh, Charlotte, Benjamin, Matt, Lucas, Aria, Brielle; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
