Warren R. Woodcock, 81, of Midland died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his home.
The son of the late Herbert D. and Lydia (Grasley) Woodcock was born in Midland on December 4, 1927. Warren married Jean Weidenmier on June 7, 1946, and after 60 years of marriage, she predeceased him, on September 10, 2006. Warren had worked for the Dow Chemical Company in the service department, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed hunting and tinkering. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His latest enjoyment was taking the great-grandchildren on rides with his “mule” in search of dinosaur bones.
Mr. Woodcock is survived by his son, Daniel (Diane) Woodcock of Midland; daughters, Linda (Rick) Whitehead of Dexter, New Mexico, and Laurel Thompson of Midland; grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Woodcock, Calvin (Kim) Woodcock, Jacob Woodcock, J.D. (Deanna) Farless, Gene (Lori) Thompson, Stephen (Amy) Thompson, John (Mari) Cihiy and Christina (Shawn) Renn; -8- great-grandchildren; brother, H. Duane (Barbara) Woodcock of Midland; and sister, Marie (Pete) Peasley of Midland.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, George Thompson.
