Mr. Love passed away at a local hospital.

WARREN LOVE JR., affectionately known as “Busta” by his family, was born on September 20, 1926 on a farm outside of Gibsland, LA. He was the third child and only son born to Odell and Warren Love Sr. At the age of fourteen, he began his first job delivering groceries. Near this time, his father, who had gone ahead to California to work, sent for him. By the age of eighteen, Warren Jr. was working as a truck driver at the Naval Base on North Island.

It wasn’t long before Warren enlisted into the United States Navy, serving his country with pride during World War II. After completing a two year stint in the Navy and receiving his Honorable Discharge, Warren returned to his job at North Island and also united with the National Reserves.

In 1954, Warren joined the United States Army, where he found his calling as Platoon Sgt. He was not only teaching young men military skills but also instilling discipline and preparing them for combat as well as life. He enjoyed and was good at his job. Over the years, many young men came back to thank him for his valuable lessons and teaching. During the Vietnam Conflict, Warren volunteered for a second tour and was wounded in combat. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medals for his bravery and courage in battle.

Warren married the lovely Emma Jean Lawton On April 16, 1955. Their union was beautifully blessed with a son and two daughters. His children learned very early in life two things their father loved the most besides them, his job and their mother. Warren and Emma shared fifty-eight years as one, with Warren showering his bride with love, and happiness. Warren was a very loving grandfather, great-grand father, uncle and friend. He worked very hard to provide a good life for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Zora Fenderson and Odessa Woodard.

On Thursday, February 14, 2013, Warren Love Jr. was called from earthly labor to eternal rest. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Emma; one son, Warren Ray Love III of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Carol A. Sharpe of San Diego, CA and Janice M. Love of Tarzana, CA; three grandchildren, Jovan Sharpe of Austin, TX, Jerome Sharpe (Kimberly) and Jason Sharpe of San Diego, CA; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
