Warren John Hogue passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Kalispell, MT.  He was born July 26, 1929 in Aberdeen, SD to John Hogue and Bessie (Stewart) Hogue.

Warren Graduated from high school in 1947. On July 15, 1949 he married his high school sweetheart Verona Serfling.  They resided on the family farm until 1952, when Warren went to work for the Forest Service in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  After residing at the Tee Pee Ranger Station on the South Dakota/Wyoming border for three years, Verona and Warren moved to Custer, SD. They left Custer in 1960 and moved to the Flathead Valley, first living in Kalispell and then onto Bigfork in 1963 where they resided at the Ranger Station.  In 1971, they built a home in Bigfork and Warren resided there until he moved to Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Kalispell in April of 2014.  Warren retired from the Forest Service in 1986 after 33 years.

Warren enjoyed trap shooting and shot on a team for a number of years at the Flathead Gun and Trap Club.  He spent many hours bird hunting and fishing.  In his younger years, much of his leisure time was spent with his family backcountry hiking, camping, boating, and water skiing on Flathead Lake.  He loved attending any event one of his children or grandchildren were participating in.

Warren was a loving and thoughtful husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Jerome Hogue and Joyce Anderson; his wife, Verona Hogue; daughter, Sylvia Hogue Gordon; and his son, Clayton Hogue.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Brevik and her husband Gerald, of Somers; his grandson Mark Brevik and his wife Christina and their children, Archie and Soraya; granddaughter, Debbie Savik and her husband Lon and their children, Ashlyn, Austin, Tamret, and Tsiyon, all of Somers; grandson Tom Gordon Jr. and his wife Alicia and their daughters, Kodi and Gabby of Bigfork; and Daniel Kiermaier of Maple Falls, WA, surviving partner of Clayton.

The family will have a private celebration of Warren’s life on July 16, 2016.

His family is so thankful for the loving care he received at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Kalispell and from Frontier Hospice in the last months of his life. We are forever grateful.
