Warren E. Breit, Sr., 84, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006, at Hospice House in South Bend. Mr. Breit was born on October 1, 1921, in Payne, Ohio, to John J. and Grace B. (Marshall) Breit. He retired from the former Bendix Corporation as a maintenance supervisor on March 31, 1981, after 33 years of service.
On April 4, 1953, in South Bend, Warren married Elsie E. VanderHagen, who preceded him in death on November 24, 1993. Surviving are his children, Warren P. (Laurie) Breit, Jr. of South Bend, Nora L. Peterson of Plymouth, Minnesota, Darlene M. Kennedy of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Edward (Sue) Basham of Coldwater, Minnesota, Rodney Basham (Joyce)of Minneapolis, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Teresa Nagy of Naples, Florida. Brothers, Robert Breit, John Breit and sisters, Shirley Thompson and Gracie Breit all preceded him in death.
Mr. Breit was a member of the Fraternal Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 58, the Bendix Retirees Club, and a Navy veteran of WWII.
