Wanna Shuman Engle, 87 of Independence, WV passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Windy Hill Village in Kingwood. She was born May 21, 1928 in Brookhaven, WV, daughter of the late Loyd and Susanna (Poe) Shuman. Her family was an original Arthurdale Homestead family, moving to Arthurdale when she was five. Wanna graduated from Arthurdale High School in 1946. She was a former member of Arthurdale Heritage, Rebekah Lodge, and a Rotary Fellow Award Member. She attended the Independence Baptist church for many years. Wanna was a seamstress by trade and spent a lot of her time sewing for her family and friends. Her favorite job was for Rumble Seat Press sewing doll clothes for Norman Rockwell signature dolls. She was also a book collector and painted with oils.
