Wanda V. Neff, age 91, of Metamora, IL, formerly of West Peoria, IL passed away at 10:30 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Snyder Village from Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Peoria, IL on April 27, 1927, she was the daughter of David Henry and Nellie (Gaylord) White, now deceased and having one brother, George L. White also deceased. She married her childhood friend and neighbor Leland K. Neff on December 6, 1947. They built by hand the home they lived in on land given to them as a wedding present by her grandfather, George Gaylord, residing in West Peoria until they moved to Snyder Village ten years ago. They had been married almost 71 years.
She is survived by her husband Leland and their eldest son David L. Neff and his son David M. Neff. Their son, Gale G. Neff preceded her in death, survived by his wife Erin, their two children, son Trevor and daughter Shawna Graddy, her husband Marchello, and granddaughter Brenna and grandson Brayden.
Wanda was a 1945 graduate of Woodruff High School. She was an Avon representative for 34 years serving the West Peoria area. She was a President’s Award winner several years including seven consecutive years in the 1980’s. She was active in Cub Scouts with her boys. Her hobbies included bowling, golf, camping, and traveling.
