Wanda J. Schaubert, age 91 of Shannon, IL, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at home. She was born October 7, 1922 in Salem, IL; the daughter of the late Robert and Versa (Blalock) Powless.
She married Clarence Schaubert on October 1, 1942; he died August 7, 1970.
Wanda had worked as a cook at the Shannon Nursing Home and helped her sisters at their cafes in Sterling and Rockfalls. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and crocheting.
She is survived by two daughters, Dixie (James Samuel) Foshee of Patoka, IL and Sheila Renee (Donald) Derrer of Shannon; grandchildren, Joey (Sarah) Foshee, Troy (Wendy) Derrer, Curt (Sara) Derrer, and Kendra (Brian) Newhall; great grandchildren, David, Nathan, Matalin, & Jeremiah, and Daniel, Emma, & Caleb; step children, Hazel (Gerald) Boop and Bob (Carolyne) Schaubert; and step grandchildren, Gary, Robert, Larry, Randy, Ricky, Terry, and Ronnie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Jackie Book; great-grandson, Jonah; five sisters; one brother; and stepdaughter, Maxine Foltz.
