Wanda Rose Sample, 80, of Bloomington passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at IU Health Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Born, on April 16, 1939, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Louise (Meadows) Patton.
Wanda was an assembler at RCA for 30 years, and later a cook for Sigma Delta Tau Sorority in Bloomington. She was a good Christian and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Burgoon Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Meadows (Tracy), and Jeff Meadows (Denise), step-son, Bobby Sample (Tova), and daughter-in-law, Karla Meadows, grandchildren, Roddy Harris, Angie Batchelor, Natasha Mofield, Shane Meadows, Brandon Meadows, Shayla Flynn, Jared Meadows, J.D. Meadows, and Ben Meadows, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Donnie Patton (Linda), three sisters, Lois Meadows, Colleen Deckard, and Veneta Hodge, and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda Leach, one son, Jimmy Meadows, one sister, Maxine Ray, and one brother, Lonuel Patton.
