Wanda (Lis) Rothholz, 63 of Oakdale and Edgewater, Florida.

Wanda (Lis) Rothholz 63 , of Oakdale and Edgewater, Florida died. Beloved wife, partner, friend and mother, Wanda was born the youngest of 7 Girls to the late Walter and Jane (Sencer) Lis May 6, 1949 in New London, CT.
She was raised in Mystic primarily. Moving to Norwich at 13 when her father opened “Lis’s Tavern” on Franklin St. She attended NFA.
She had worked as a C.N.A. and later as a lab Tech for the South Carolina Dept. of Health in Summerville. She ended her career as a Home Health C.N.A. for 1st Florida Home Health of Ormond Beach, FL. She retired from there in 1993 due to a car accident while working.
She met the love of her life while working for T.V.C.C.A. in May of 1967. It was 3 months later on November 4, 1967 that she and Jim were married. She used to say “we grew up together”. Most felt it wouldn’t last long! She was 18. He was 19. They proved them all wrong! They were married 45 yrs in November of 2012.
She and her husband traveled extensively. Living in Nanakuli Hawaii, Monks Corner South Carolina and finally settling in Edgewater, Florida. She had returned only recently to Oakdale for her husband’s health only to succumb to Sjogren’s disease and C.O.P.D.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 2 of her older sisters, Geraldyn Dawes and Enid Cofone.
Besides her husband Jim , she leaves 4 older sisters, Mary Jane (William) Jackson, Lorraine (Mike)Conwell, Patricia Main (Doug) and Josephine (Pete) Sperling. Three children, Walter(Rhonda)Rothholz of Tarentum, PA. Kathleen (Bill) Calash of Oakdale and James (Yolanda) Rothholz, Jr. of Colchester. As well as her much loved grandchildren, Cheyenne Rothholz. Kyle, Maria, Cody, Gilbert and Grace Calash. And Brendan Rothholz.
Wanda, most of all loved Jehovah God and his son, Christ Jesus. She was an active Jehovah’s Witness for almost 40 years, recently returning to the Montville Congregation were she had attended for many years before moving away. She touched so many people’s lives and was loved by all and will be missed!
I’ll be there waiting when Jesus tells you to “Wake up !” my love.
