Wanda Lee Deyo passed away at age 95, to be greeted in heaven by husband, Lewis Deyo and son, Jimmy Walker who preceded her there. Born in Belen, New Mexico, to Grisham and Ethel Corley, on Friday, September 9, 1927, she slipped away as the sun was rising on Sunday, October 23, 2022. She is survived by daughters, Rhanda Hagood and Rebecca Williams; grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Christopher, Sharon, and Jennifer; and three great-grandchildren.

Wanda spent her youth in Clovis, New Mexico, and most of her adult life in Albuquerque. She was devoted to her family, her Christian faith, and her church family. She was always on the lookout to help where she was needed. For a time, while Lewis pursued a degree at UNM, she served as an assistant to a pulmonary specialist at Lovelace Clinic. Those she tested included astronauts and specialized aviators.

A few years after the passing of Lewis in 1998, she relocated to an apartment complex which she loved and where she was loved by other residents. The skies and mountains of Albuquerque always held a special place in her heart and inspired her paintings and stained-glass art. Many of her works now grace the homes of fellow residents and family members.

Warm thanks are due to the very special staff of Compassionate Care Companions for their loving care of Wanda.
