Wanda L. Hammond (Koch, Denton)
Loving mother and wife to Robert Hammond passed away Friday afternoon December 2, 2016 following a three year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 72.
Born December 15, 1943 in Steel City NE to Albert and Katherine Koch. Wanda grew up in Wymore NE. While in high school Wanda met Thomas H Denton in Beatrice, NE and they were married on September 2, 1961. After marring Tom she resided in Beatrice NE where she gave birth to Tommy, Johnny and Michele. In 1967, She and the family moved to Salina KS where Kathy was born. A year later they all moved to Denver CO. In 1976 they moved south to Littleton CO. Wanda and Thomas were divorced is 1986. Wanda found love again with Robert Hammond and re-married on August 19, 1989 and made a home in Littleton, CO where she resided until her death.
Wanda had 4 children; Tommy Lee Denton (Theresa), Johnny Ray Denton, Michele Renee King (David), Kathy Marie Mellema (Todd). She had 9 Grandchildren, Teran Letson (Randy), Davin Stege, Brian Denton (Mikala), Cara Thomas (Nick), Kathleen Boyle (James), Angila Prom, Steven Prom (Lindsey), Laura Denton (Tim) and Johnny Denton Jr. , one older brother Loren Koch and she had 10 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Don and Darrel Koch and sister Mavis Wolfe.
