Wanda L Haines, 92, of Anderson, Indiana left the cares of this life on August 19, 2018 to forever live and worship with her Savior in Heaven. She was born on May 20, 1926 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Walter and Alma (Fisher) Haines. Wanda Graduated from North Central Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN and Ball State University’s School of Nursing in Muncie, Indiana. Wanda was part of the greatest generation during WW2 for the war effort by being a true Rosie the Riveter.

She spent her time working on aircraft at a Chevrolet plant in Muncie, Indiana to support her country in a time of need. She devoted 30 years of her life as a nurse and retired from Mary Thompson Hospital in Chicago. Wanda loved her family and friends with her indomitable spirit that touched so many lives. There was nothing Wanda enjoyed more than an interesting conversation with a good friend or family member.

Wanda loved her family and friends, but her deep love for the Lord was remarkable. He was the anchor that held her steady amidst any storm. Her relationship with the Lord was deep, personal and an inspiration to all. Wanda’s incredible spirit, kindness, integrity, generosity, unyielding strength, keen sense of humor and sharp wit will live on in the lives she touched over the years. Wanda’s time on this earth proved that family ties have no boundaries.

Wanda never had children of her own, but she had a wonderfully close relationship with her nieces and nephews. Wanda dearly loved her brother John Haines. Wanda’s best friend, Barbara Coovert, was as close as any sister. When Barb’s nephew, Donald Coovert, was a single father, Wanda and Barbara stepped in to help raise his three young children.
