Wanda Harmening, 96, of Pendleton, passed away on February 1, 2016 at the Community Northview Care Center, Anderson. She was born on January 3, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois.

She resided most of her life in Hammond, IN, but the last 20 years were in Pendleton. Wanda graduated from Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois. She worked for Keyes Fibre and retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, loved all types of animals, but most importantly loved to spend time with her family.

Wanda is survived by her loving children, Dr. Ronald (Debbie) Harmening of Pendleton, Sandra (Arthur) Tomaszewski of Schererville, and Robert Harmening of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Dale (Laura) Tomaszewski, Linda Rachau, Craig (Christine) Tomaszewski, Bryan (Dawn) Smith, and Amy Smith; great-grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Tomaszewski, Sarah (Ryan) Norris, Courtney Tomaszewski, Gunnar Rachau, Garret Rachau, Maverick Tomaszewski, Matthew Heiligstedt, Makayla Morrison, Holly (Chris) Sipe, Christi Finney, Ariah Swain, Brandon Pressnall, Colten Smith, Caleb Smith, and Dionte Smith; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Julie Harmening; special friends, Udela Davis, and Tommy and Lori Goodson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Clifton Harmening; parents, Andrew and Caroline Panczyk; siblings, Emil Panczyk, Lorretta Yatsak, and Genevieve Romba; and several cousins. The family is very appreciative of all the loving care by the staff at Community Northview Care Center.
