Walter (Wayne) Chambers age 76 of Boerne, Texas passed away on October 26, 2016. He was born in Marshall, Texas on June 20, 1940 to Walter Ray and Ethel Chambers. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and served in the Texas Army National Guard. Wayne married Peggy Ford in November of 1961 and was happily married for nearly fifty-five years. He graduated with Honors and a Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas. He was a lifelong member of Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon Honor Societies. Wayne was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation for thirty eight years.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and in-laws (Sam and Pauline Ford). He is survived by his wife Peggy of Boerne, daughter Susan (Glenn) Matthias, grandsons Eric and David Matthias of San Antonio, son Michael Chambers of Taylor. He is also survived by his brothers Bobby Chambers of Jefferson TX. and Steve (Leslie) Chambers of Harleton, TX. In addition, he is survived by sisters-in-law Joann Burns of Fort Worth, TX , Paula May of Humble, TX. and brother-in-law Dicky Ford of Marshall, TX. Along with his aunt Billie Worsham and Uncle Jimmy (Barbara) Polkinghorn, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
