Walter W. Lane, Jr., 87, Middletown, died June 14, 2009 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana. He was born April 26, 1922 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in the Middletown/Anderson area all of his life. Walter was a graduate of Anderson High School.

He served his country in the US Navy as a Radar Man during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors as an electrician. Walter was a member of the UAW Local #662 and was a Junior National Champion Horseshoe Pitcher in New York.

He is survived by his wife whom he married September 12, 1942, Frances M. Lane; sons, Larry Sylvia Lane of Orange Park, Florida, Ron Sherry Lane of Middletown and Ken Judith Lane of Madison; siblings, Warner W. Lane of Anderson, Ernest Sue Lane of Middletown and Diane Arlo Allen of Anderson; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter W. Lane Sr. and Lucille Trace Lane; siblings, Robert Lane, Rex Lane, Cecilia Turner, Leah Reeder, Virginia Williams and infant sister, Frances Lane.
