Walter Surowiec, Sr., 86, of East Brunswick passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Walter was born in New Brunswick, NJ and was raised in Spotswood. In 1957, Walter married Patricia White Surowiec and the couple settled in East Brunswick, where they raised 6 children together. As a young man he enjoyed body building and traveled cross-country. He enjoyed working on cars and explored the countryside on his Indian motorcycle. Walter was a self-taught musician playing and building accordions his entire life.
Walter was predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1998. Walter is also predeceased by his brother John Surowiec, and his parents Stanley Surowiec and Mary Suita Surowiec. Walter is survived by his 6 children Walter Surowiec, Jr. and his wife Mary, Patricia Surowiec, Michael Surowiec and his wife Sharon, Karen Surowiec, Daniel Surowiec, and Maryanne Surowiec; his sister Irene Janas; his grandchildren George, Brian, Steven, Asher, Meshelemiah, and Jesse, and; his great-granddaughter Kayla. Walter is survived by his wife of 15 years, Pauline Redmond Surowiec.
