Walter James Trybulski Jr.
Born in Ludlow MA in 1943 to late Walter J Trybulski ,former Mayor of Chicopee and Bertha ( Skaza) Trybulski. Walter attended St. Stanislaus School in Chicopee, Cranwell Preparatory School in the Berkshires and Boston College Class of “65” and Boston University School of Law.
Walter also served proudly on the board of the Lake Wyola Association for many years. Sure, he was Walter while on the Chicopee Board of Aldermen and as a Conciliator for the Industrial Accident Board. But friends and family called him Skip, a nickname he earned as a young boy boating around Lake Wyola. Even in later years, a perfect day for Skip was spent hosting his family at “the Lake.” He would relish prepping the Rinker boat, getting skis, tubes and life jackets assembled, and taking his daughter, Monica, her friends, and his nieces & nephews round and round Lake Wyola. He was a patient teacher and taught many a person how to get up on their first skis or perhaps drop a ski and try slalom.
He’d throw some burgers on his homemade stone grill for lunch and then take a slow, evening pontoon ride with his beloved wife, Maryjane, the dogs and his beautiful parrot “Budgie.” People would always stop and stare at this large, majestic green wing macaw perched upon his shoulder. She was his pride and joy and he lovingly cared for Budgie for over 45 years.
He would settle into the evening playing card games like Pitch and enjoying his favorite scotch on the rocks which evolved later to chilled, nonalcohol Wine, preferably a red. He might try to convince his daughter to learn cribbage but ultimately would get a worthy opponent in his wonderful father-in-law, who was always up for a match. Skip was eternally proud of his family.
Skip taught his daughter some important things, like how to throw a football, whack a wiffle and her favorite, the art of a good body surf at Misquamicut. He also taught her how to present a well-thought-out argument, which came in handy while bartering for higher allowance and finagling out of taking Latin, which she ironically now regrets.
Skip was always there for others. He loved helping lead the Lake Wyola Association and all its projects. He especially loved the summertime dance/chicken/steak roasts, where he’d be at the grill with his buddies then later dancing the night away to ‘Proud Mary.’ Skip was a wickedly intelligent, kind, adventurous man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Walter leaves his wife MaryJane (Newton) Trybulski of Chicopee ,his daughter Monica J(Trybulski) Lambert ,(Michael Lambert) , grandchildren of which he was most proud Jack Lambert and Caroline Lambert all of Michigan his pride and joys, and his beloved dog Spike.
