Walter Radford Voges, 70, of Boerne, TX entered into Heaven on Monday, October 31, 2022. He was born April 29, 1952 in San Antonio, TX.  He received his Associate’s degree in Nursing from San Antonio College (SAC).  He worked as a registered nurse in the dialysis unit serving veterans at the V.A. Hospital for over 45 years. He was greatly loved by his co-workers and patients.  Many noted him as kind and funny. He was the life of any party, always ready to discuss his latest “project.” He loved knowledge, art, writing, reading, and nature. He could butcher a hog with one hand and write a poem with the other. He was best known as a Keeper and Teller of Stories, Giver of Advice and Time, a Man’s Man, a Teacher, and a Good Friend. While he wasn’t a whiz in the kitchen, he was the boss in the smokehouse with the skills and heart to prove it. A consummate dreamer and fierce lover of God and family, he wished for others to know the Lord and that to know God was the greatest adventure.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents Radford “Pink” Voges and Mary Agnes Voges and his sister Rita Worswick.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years and love of his life Carol “Khaki” Voges of Boerne; his daughters, step-son, and son-in-law: Dennis and Sarah Cheek of Nicholasville, KY, Molly Lee of Austin, TX, and Lonnie Johnson of Tyler, TX; his six grandchildren: Zander, Guinevere, Brie, Brodie, Abbie, and Isaac; his brothers and sister: Laurine “Punkin” Crosby, Leon Martin, and Eddie Voges, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
