Walter R. Raab, 78 of Silver Ridge Park West section of Berkeley Township died on Sunday September 11, 2011 at his home. Born and raised in Newark, NJ he lived in Toms River, NJ before moving to Berkeley Township 9 years ago. Mr. Raab retired as a Detective from the Irvington Police Department.

Walter served in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War Combat and received two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the DAV of NJ Chapter 24, and the VFW Post 1439. He was an avid baseball card collector and loved the history of the Marine Corps.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Suzanne (nee Krumbine). Walter is survived by his sons, Bill Raab and his wife Lori of Union, NJ and Brian Raab of Union, NJ. One stepson Ronald Panco and his wife Lisa of Beachwood, NJ. One stepdaughter Ruthann Panco of Southampton, NJ. Also, he is survived by his six grandchildren Melanie, Jesse, David, Emily, Ashley, and Kara.
