Walter William Pertha was born on June 29th 1956 in Brooklyn, New York to the parents of Mrs. Gertrude Pertha and Mr. Henry Pertha.
Walter grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended Lafayette High School. He graduated in 1974, he continued his journey in the military. He joined the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged. During his life journey he also resided in Savannah, Georgia. On August 8, 1977 he married Darlene.
Walter Pertha was a loving, caring and energetic person. He enjoyed his time meeting new people, going on vacation, dressing nice, being a father and father figure to all the children in his life.
On October 9th, 2017, Walter William Pertha gained his wings and was called home to the Lord due to his long battle with Cancer. He fought a good fight.
Walter was preceded in death by both parents Henry and Gertrude Pertha, and his sister Pamela.
Walter leaves to cherish his loving memory, his seven sons: Kareem (daughter in-law Shameeka), Hamel, Jermey Lizardi, William, Walter, Malike and Sesar; his four daughters: Ebony Gaymon (son in-law Jelani Sanders), Shanekya, Kricilla and Pricilla; his sisters: Vickie, Jeanie, Henrietta, Lisa and his brothers Joe and Reese. He also leaves his 19 grandchildren, Syeda, Kareem Jr., Empress, Zaniyah, Zariyah, Zaire, Nykael, Betsy, Jeremiah, Shameek, Shahiem, Shamaya, Shazij, Shewill, Melike Jr., Mickel, Forevah, Ai’Yana and Kashmir, and a whole host of nieces and nephews. Walter was also a father figure to several other children, Cathy, Lakeisha, Latoya, Dashawn, and Ray John.
